Stem Meeting - Wed, April 25

Only 2 more STEM meetings to go for the year. Next week, Wed. April 25th at 6:30pm in the Art Room, we will be primarily learning about map making, reading, and orienting. Spoiler alert, during my extensive research into this topic, I found an ancient treasure map in a previously unknown volume of the previously unknown Immaculata archives. We will see where it leads.

Occoneechee Council Cub-O-Ree, Camp Durant, April 13-15 – Registration Closes March 27!

Join hundreds of Cub Scouts and their families at beautiful Camp Durant, April 13-15 for an exciting weekend of fun and fellowship!

This is a family camping event for Lions, Tigers, Wolves, Bears, and Webelos. Activities include: shooting sports, STEM activities, games, geocaching course, rocket launch, knot tying, ropes course, crafts, campfire, and more! The trading post and Scout Shop will have plenty of Scout items to purchase.

Webelos Scouts will have a separate program from 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM on Saturday including a hike to nearby Camp Reeves, shooting sports, lunch preparation, and activities led by Boy Scouts. (Siblings are not permitted at the Webelos program.)

Additional details will be provided to registrants. Adults may be asked volunteer at program stations, in the Grand Lodge, or in our campsite.

COST: $16 per Cub or sibling under 18, $26 per adult.

Registration fee covers lunch and dinner on Saturday in the Grand Lodge. Breakfasts and Friday dinner (if desired in camp) are the responsibility of families.

Registration must be accompanied by payment via Paypal link on Pack website (https://www.pack424durham.org/paypal/pay - please see "General Payment to Pack 424" at the bottom of the PayPal payment page and enter the dollar value of your registrations and any T-shirts ordered.)

We cannot accept registrations after 3/27. Sign up as soon as possible—don’t miss this great event!

Each participating youth (including siblings) and adult will need to have a BSA medical form on file with the Pack.

STEM Meeting - Rocket Launch

We will be holding our rocket launch event in lieu of the usual STEM meeting this month. This will be held at Cornwallis Road Park at 5:30 pm on Wed. Feb 28th (note the earlier time so we can capture some daylight, if you can't make it that early, we will be there probably until it gets dark).

Pack 424 Zoo Snooze - Creatures of the Night !!!

The Pack is going on a cool adventure--Creatures of the Night Zoo Snooze at the NC Zoo in Asheboro.  We will be sleeping in a large climate-controlled room with carpeted flooring and are responsible for bringing our own sleeping bag, pillow, sleeping pad, air mattress, etc. The room is large enough to designate adult/cub and male/female sleeping areas. Plan to eat dinner before arrival at 6:45 pm.  You must arrive on time and stay the entire night to participate.  NC Zoo Scout patches are available for purchase for $2.
